I have 3 nice acoustic guitars. I also have an old Kay archtop that I enjoy playing. I also have an inexpensive Olympia by Tacoma acoustic that wasn't worth selling so I strung it up in Nashville tuning. So that's 5 total acoustics and I also have 5 electric guitars.

I recently thinned the herd by selling 2 acoustic guitars and I have no immediate plans on buying or selling any more guitars.

4 as shown in my signature. Not buying or selling or trading at this point. Pretty content with what I have. I play all 4 weekly. Only change i'm considering is swapping out the pickup in the J-45 for an Anthem SL but that's far in the future.

The OM is the most versatile - at whisper quiet volumes I get warm bass and midrange, depth and texture, so it’s out of it’s case most often.

4 electrics will probably all get sold - least convincing low volume performance - OM blows them all out of the water.

Yamaha hasn’t been setup yet - very stable and reliable guitar otherwise, a lifer.

Interesting stories from AGF members! Keep the votes and comments coming.

The number of guitars that I own should remain fairly stable in the near future. 6 is a comfortable number of guitars to own. 5 is good too.

The three in my signature. The herd is likely to increase, I sense a nylon string and a bass in my future.

This topic always bring to mind a Jackson Browne anecdote on the live acoustic CDs. Evidently Stephen Stills was the first person he knew who owned so many guitars that he required a truck to transport them between shows. JB thought it decadent but admited, "I just didn't understand." In the same anecdote he was asked by another musician how many guitars he owned. His response was a sheepish, "I don't know."

I just realized this poll is incorrect. This selection is missing:

≡ Not Enough.

Not happy. I was hoping everyone would vote in the 23+ category so I could go over to the Missus and say "see!"

Not too late to help a friend!

Not counting the guitars my sonny boy has “borrowed” over the years, I have eight. Three acoustic, five electric. Looking to get a little lighter now.

For those who have 30 or above... may I know how you manage to store so many guitars at home?

I'd like to take the opportunity of this thread and ask for opinions. I currently own:

1) a nylon string, cutway and electronics

2) an electric, les paul model

3) a steel string beater, tuned to open G and used for slide playing / practice

Would you guys consider that an "acceptable" number of guitars or would it be too many / not enough for you?

I'd love to be the "one guitar" kind of guy, but on the other hand I can see a reason for having those three as I use them for completely different things.
