You have really pulled things together in an awesome way.

Thanks for taking some simple concepts and ideas and making them into something beautiful.

I'm excited to see the remaining parts come together.

Thanks!

A lot of volume is coming from this body when it's tapped. This Bastogne has a lot to say!

Here are a couple more progress pictures on the Josie small jumbo cedar and Bastogne Walnut guitar. Here is the BRW fretboard getting glued onto the neck:

I have finished binding the body with African Blackwood and the Zebrawood radial purfling is all glued in. I also used African Blackwood on the arm bevel:

Tomorrow will be a neck carving day and I'll spend some time cleaning up the body

Thank you for viewing

That is really looking good! The woods and the colors are really coming together well! The African Blackwood binding and arm bevel are awesome! Can't wait to see them under finish!

I don't want to over do it with a bunch of !!!!!!!!! , but it's hard to resist.

Thanks Tom! There are a lot of different woods coming together here.
I'm banking on our wood color selections to tie it all together and I think we're seeing that.

The African Blackwood has a bit more brown in it than the photos can show.
It's a little softer than the more contrast we'd get from black Ebony. I'm very happy how it blends in

Thanks Mike,

The fretboard and the bridge are going to be Brazilian Rosewood for several reasons, first the Brazilian makes a better sounding bridge then African Blackwood for this guitar. Secondly, the BRW we're using has the dark colors of the African Blackwood and it also has lighter streaks that go with the cedar top so it helps build some continuity in appearance.

The guitar is coming right along and will be ready to ship out for finish next week. I still need more clean-up and frets but, not much more to go!

Thanks!
Mark

Thanks Quentin!

I spent some time today cleaning it up and doing some final fine sanding. Looking forward to seeing this with finish on it!

Beautiful! Now comes the long wait. Given the time of year it makes me think of Christmas Eve as a kid, only now I'm a lot older an Christmas Eve is going to last two months or so.

Well it's shipped today and the wait begins. I really look forward to seeing it under finish. I also have high expectations for the sound from this old cedar and Bastogne combination. Things happen slowly in the world of guitar building!

I really like the looks of this walnut too! I've tried to accent it's color with the selection of the additional woods which came from all over the world.
It's fun to be a guitar builder, so far I've not built two of the same guitar yet and hope to keep it that way!

Another beauty, Mark! I look forward to seeing under finish as well. I love me some cedar and pairing it with walnut is a nice combo.

Best,
Jayne
