Default fingerstyle piece in DGDF#AD tuning

I've got a second video together now. This one is an open-tuning fingerstyle piece called "South Branch" to go with the blues I did a few weeks ago. Actually, I had a tough time playing it for the video. I was able to pull off the blues in one take, but my hands just weren't working this time. They were really tight — I have got to get them off the phone and computer! I think we got a decent take. It isn't that difficult of a piece. I'm a songwriter more than a solo guitar player, but this one popped out with no words.

I'll do at least one more with these guys. The next one will be a singer/songwriter sort of thing, which is probably (hopefully!) my strength.

Anyway, thanks in advance. I hope you enjoy it. Especially the shots of my perfect hair.

Very nice and tranquil. You did a great job on this song. The Bourgeois sounds very rich and punchy too. Interesting tuning too!

btw, the video prod was very nice!

Hi Paul,

I have a transcription of this somewhere. Lots of open strings to take advantage of the tuning. I'll try to dig it up. I think it might sound more difficult than it is to play.

Thanks for the kind feedback!

Really nice. You and that guitar get a great clarity of sound.

Well, if you should find it, yes I would love a copy. I'm very fond of the Celtic sound. I've been working on Mo Ghille Mear for a few months now.

Paul

I uploaded it to my website. The intro and last chord are missing, but I change things all the time. There might be a few other things that have evolved, and I've never had anyone look at this to check my accuracy. There ought to be enough there to get you started. Lots of open strings!

Cheers!

By the way, I took this guitar in for a neck reset this morning. Something strange happened that has me scratching my head. I was away from it for a week, and when I pulled it out the action was super high. It's got that bolt on neck. The guitar tech is really great, and I trust he's going to do it right. He's also looking at the top and braces to make sure it's all ok.

Very strange.
