I've not used one but the Phil Jones Cub 100 was kind of a small-amp rage several years ago.

Yes, that one. Not a ton of info out there on these, but what I've read sounds pretty positive. Thanks in advance for any comments on these.

I know that the speaker configuration is four facing forward on the floor and two facing up, so that it is designed to project forward to cover a gig, but witht he top two speakers facing up for monitoring so that you don't have to angle it up. I have a Phil Jones Bass "Cub" bass amp with two of those little speakers and the amount of bass it produces is unreal, so don't let the small speaker size scare you.

I don't have experience with the acoustic amp, but I once bought a bass amp with the same configuration of tiny speakers. Got it used/mint at a very heavy discount as the resale value didn't seem to be there. But ultimately it didn't work for me. Not enough stage volume and I didn't need much. I flipped it and went back to my little Markbass head with a Markbass Nano 1x12 w/ horn. That rig puts out a lot of quality sound in a small package.

I own one, Fantastic amp overall with very natural tone. The two upfiring speakers do help to spread the sound around so it's not as direct sounding.

I also own the 150 watt version and use it live a little more as most places I don't need the volume that the 300 provides in it's bigger package.

I've owned a lot of acoustic amps and the Phil Jones are my very favorites. They sound like your guitar only bigger.

The nice thing about the 300 is the Reverb. I will agree that resale on these can be kinda weak. I just think they don't have enough following in the Acoustic world compared to AER and others. I myself much prefer the tone of the PJ compared the AER that I owed and used for a while. It was a great amp as well but I love the tone of the Phil Jones more so that's what I've been playing on gigs for the last 4 years. I don't jones (no pun intended) for anything new as I've very happy with them.

3 or 4 years ago I paid $650 used in mint condition for my 300 if that helps you in anyway.

Thanks Benderman, that's some good feedback (no pun intended ). Sounds like you got a really good price on yours given its condition and original price these run brand new. I appreciate all the responses.
