In fact, any of the guitars that I have with good bass, the bigger body guitars, all sounded horrible to me. So, I thought, I should try an OM that has less bass to begin with. The Santa Cruz had old strings and it sounded awful, too, until I changed strings.

I don't normally play a guitar at other than standard pitch and I had a heck of a time trying the get the guitar in tune with itself. Maybe it's just that I'm not used to the sound, but the intonation on the Santa Cruz was also off a little. I really had to tweak and adjust until I could get it to sound right.

I do agree, though -- once I got the guitar in tune with itself, the Santa Cruz OM/PW sounded good.

Yes, if you tune down a step and aren't used to it, it will throw your ear off. Nothing will sound right and even cross tuning won't seem to fix it.

Great stuff Glenn, keep it up!

Hi Barry,

Well, it was just a half step -- for example, high E became high D# -- but your point is still completely valid. We tend to be prisoners of our own habits.

Thank you for your vote of confidence! You have always been very generous here on the AGF and it's greatly appreciated!

I hope all is well for you and that you are enjoying the summer.

Another great job Glenn. You make it look so easy. I'm already waiting for your next video.

That was nice. Morning coffee and a good song.
Lately, I've been looking over songs I played in the past.
Trying to find things to work on and make fresh improvements.
Your video was encouragement.

Hi Tom!

Thanks so much for your thoughts and comments!

Regarding making it look easy, I had the same thought myself as I reviewed my video before I put it up on YouTube. It really doesn't look like I'm trying very hard! And of course there's an irony there, because as you know, when a person is playing and singing and thinking about all the things involved in making a recording and a video, there is a lot going on in a person's head! It's not all that easy inside!

Thank you, too, for the compliment about already waiting for my next video! I appreciate your encouragement!

Thank you Westview!

Thank you very much for taking time to comment! Much appreciated!

I am having my coffee right now in the midst of a beautiful morning, so I appreciate where you are coming from!

I am so pleased that you see my video as encouragement. I certainly hope to be! Nobody is getting famous, we're just trying to enjoy our guitars and make music that we can appreciate. If we can encourage each other along the way, we are each better for it.

Going back and looking at stuff we have done in the past is a great way to stretch our minds. I always learn something new, just as I did here with "Kathy's Song." I'm sure you do, too!

Be well out there and take care!
- Glenn
