Talking Well...he played 1/2 of it

Must admit, the "tone" from that ol' harp guitar is nothing like what is coming out of Bozeman nowadays. Even though he recorded this on his IPhone, the old tone comes through. Myself....give me that new Gibson anytime!

Don,

Thanks for the update! It's great to know that all is well with you and yours.

Hopefully, our paths will cross again one day.

Default Poser ! Not !

Based on my take on his history, he has been playing regularly on stage since the age of 8 years old so IMO he's paid his dues sufficiently as to not be considered a poser no matter what his attire.

Re. his attire: Many of the old school blues men (Muddy Waters, J.L. Hooker to name two, R Johnson, BB King to name two more) developed the tradition of wearing suits (dressing to the nines) when performing the blues as a way to show respect for themselves, their music and their audience. John is merely following in their tradition. Does it look fake or disingenuous on this white bread blues player ? Maybe to some, but to me he's got the chops and has earned right to follow the tradition how ever he may see fit. I am a fan.

None the less, not impressive on the harp end of the tune and the additional clips of other harp guitars being played allowed me to sleep better at night without owning one. Really a special instrument for very specialized hands, it appears.

John

I see Joe playing a regular 6 string guitar, then ending with a single note from a monstrous tumor on the top of the guitar.

Mutual Anderson isn't too shabby. I did a master class with her. She's in a different universe talent-wise. It I did learn a lot.

My condolences to your mother and father for their failure. It's people like Joe that give me hope for the future. Back under the bridge with ya now..............

Come on now, don’t pick on Joe. The more you know about him, the more you listen, the more refreshing he is. I so enjoy hearing a guitar solo that actually builds melodically — most hot shots these day play everything they know if the first five seconds.

"haters gonna hate"
JB is, IMHO, a fabulous player / entertainer.
If he doesn't do it for some folks, oh well, back to the couch and keep practicing.

Absolutely zero disrespect intended. Joe is an amazing force of nature. I'm a big fan.

Another force of nature:

Read some of the total nonsense responses some imbeciles leave for either one.

Could this guy be one of the brain dead hot shots you refer to?

Ummm....you're responding to a post from March 2015....I think he took your advice and found that bridge. Hope he's OK.

I do agree with one of the other posters (from 2015) that what Joe did on that harp guitar is NOT really playing harp guitar. See Stephen Bennet, Muriel Anderson, etc for actual harp guitar playing.

Quoting Dirty Harry. "A man has got to know his limitations" and I think that JB was doing exactly that with his HG performance.
