Olson Build - #1325 Brazilian Dread started 5/2010

Hello,
thanks cpabolting for posting these pics of your beautiful guitars. I have been following this thread hoping to see some finished pictures of your guitar. If you have a chance can you try to post them? I'd love to see what that beautiful wood looks like glossed up.

I am waiting on Jim Olson. He is working 20 hours a day so as soon he sends me more, then they will get immediately posted. My sense is it is not so far away.

Jim is too busy with my inlays

Last time I was speaking to him he was already in the spraying booth filling the guitars. I cannot believe how hard this man works. Many of us do, but most of us take a day off on occasion (like a Sunday).

Yes... you can tell by the darker wood neck on mine....I think the 4th Olson ever built with a Brz rosewood neck.

did you also notice that Jim chose the darkest of all mahoganies for mine? I really like your dark Braz neck, but it was beyond (!) my financial possibilities

What an incredible set of pics are in this thread...some of the best I've seen...and, again, Jim shows his amazing talent...we are so fortunate to have so many choices of excellent luthiers available to us...thanks, Keith, for sharing your passion for Olson guitars with us...

I knew it was yours. Love the back of your headstock too.... what a great idea to inlay back of the head of headstock!

Thanks, yes he is a talent. There are so many great luthiers here... which I had enough money and justification to do more builds.

I do love my Olsons.... and everyone knows that.

Keith, I can only echo the thanks for always sharing your love of Olsons. I always look forward to the next pics.

I find it fascinating seeing different luthiers "workflow" and build strategies. Of course this thread has also shown so much of Jim's years of experience and craft in streamlining the build process (as well as the creation of specific tools and jigs) in critical areas to enable him to build fine guitars which are still expertly handcrafted.

I see mine three necks down from Keith's. It also has an inlay on the back of the headstock.
