Default Martin D road series differences

Is there a quick summation of the differences in the road series Martins Road series prices? In the site that I frequent they span from 759 (000) to 1200. In the dead’s the d10e is around 859 and they go up 100-150 for each successive number model to the d13, but they all are solid topped, sapele or siris backed/sides, richlite, tusq, etc. Others than finish or rosette I can’t suss or any major differences that would result in the differences. All are electrified, all come with soft cases.

What am I missing?

In this video they explain it.

10 is all satin finish
11 is gloss top, satin back and sides
12 and 13 are all gloss finish but the binding color is different.

Other than the different woods the finish seems to be it.

Yes, the difference is mainly in the appointments

The 10 is all satin finish

The 12 is like a D-18 clone, with a nicer rosette, nicer tuners, and all gloss. In my opinion, it's the best D-18 copy ever made!. It's a beauty.

The 13 is all gloss, siris back and sides, but it doesn't have the upgraded appointments like the 12

These guitars sound a little brighter than the d-18. They sound really good to me!

I’m looking at a 12, mainly because I love the open tuners. I balked a bit because of the price between it and an all mahogany, though. Do all hogs get played much in bluegrass style music or is it mostly spruce? I love that bright sound, so I’ve been leaning away from mahogany due to reading/hearing that it’s more mellow.

I don’t know that open tuners and a statin too are worth 300 dollars though....*sigh* first world problems.
