1977 Martin HD-28 w/original “Steal Me” Hardshell Case SOLD
Here is a fantastic player guitar from the second production year for the HD-28. It brings plenty of volume and clear tones. Would be great for a bluegrass picker.
It’s been played in quite a bit, but was not abused and is still in nice shape. Fine even finish checking throughout, very cool effect. The back of the neck has some defined wear spots corresponding to the 2nd and 4th frets, but they are smooth and unnoticeable to the touch. A couple nicks and pops on the neck, and few on the body but as they say, “honest wear” from years of play. The guitar has had a professional neck reset and refret. Neck is very straight. Unknown pick up (UST?) on board, which has a battery but not a volume control. 100% functional and sounds great amplified (sounds like a K&K to my ears). Comes with the original blue thermoplastic hardshell case. Lightweight and quite an oddity. This is a great guitar for someone who’s looking for a player guitar with aged wood (43 years) and a bit of mojo. Again, this one really sings, come check it out. $2000 plus $100 shipping to CONUS. Those thermo-plastic cases were the standard in the 70s. They even returned to them in the 90s,(with a few improvements) & are still using them. I like them because they are strong & very lightweight.

Cool guitar, GLWS. One year off and it would be birth year for me.

Still available. I've had some interest, but there appears to be a flood of HD-28s on the market. Could this be because Martin has hit it out of the park with their "reimagined" series?
If you want an older HD-28, this one could be yours... |
