Default A tip to a beginner on a budget

So I currently have a macbook pro with just garage band and other software that comes stock and was wondering how can I record what i play acoustically and use it in garage band with out a pickup and preferably under $50 and having it sound alright?

Probably a USB mic will be your best bet. I'm sure you can find something within your budget; especially if you look for used gear.

For $40, you might consider the Samson Go Mic which is a USB mic: http://www.amazon.com/Samson-Mic-Com...dp/B001R76D42/

I got it for recording while traveling. It's a pretty sensitive mic. This video on youtube convinced me to purchase it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sgtPHDKGBUQ

I also saw that a rocksmith cable would work and I was considering getting one of those but i wasn't sure.
