"Romantic" styled ukulele
I recently finished this soprano ukulele and wanted to share some photos here. While I know it's not a guitar, I used romantic guitars of centuries past as great sources of inspiration in it's design as well as design principles Ervin Somogyi has taught me. Guitars built by master makers like Stauffer, CF Martin Sr., Lacote, etc. have always been known to me and the subtle nuances of their designs and oddly reserved, yet audacious ornamentation has always lingered in my mind.
Over the past few years, I believe my sense of design and aesthetic have evolved to the point in which I prefer a simple, yet elegant style that can be seen as both modern and conservative in its nature. Ervin Somogyi has also educated me on design and how the eye perceives said design. This knowledge, as well as a healthy admiration for the guitars of the past has led to this ukulele. I had originally intended to build a guitar with similar design traits, but funds were tight and a ukulele seemed to be a much more practical choice in terms of cost and my willingness to try new (for me) things. The specs of this uke are: figured maple back, sides, and neck, Lutz spruce top, indian rosewood fretboard, bridge, binding, headplate, and neck laminations, and grover tuning keys. I would greatly appreciate opinions and feedback assuming anyone is kind enough to offer it.

Thank you for your kind comments.
Mau, I've been thinking about making a video to show how it sounds, but my best piece of recording equipment is an iPhone and my playing abilities are mediocre at best. I'll try to make one tonight... hopefully I won't embarrass myself

It was a difficult decision, but I decided to list this uke for sale: I'd very much like to be able to drive and that just seemed more important to me than having another instrument.
