Reverb - no more days listed designation

Today I noticed that the listings I am following no longer have the number of days listed. If this is a permanent change, I will be sorry to see it go. I can understand why a seller may prefer that a potential buyer not see how long a guitar has languished. But as that buyer, I definitely appreciate having that information.

Used to be the items listed as used had the post date and the new items did not.
Now with the new page layout no post dates are listed as you have pointed out.
I will admit that having the posted date was helpful to the buyer when making an offer. Probably not so much for the seller as you suggested. That’s progress for you!

I'm still seeing the listing length on a bunch of items I'm watching. Large shops on Reverb don't often show this as they have an exemption of sorts from Reverb, but individuals and smaller sellers still show it.

Interesting. I went through the first ten on my list and there is no listing age on any of them. The page format looks different to me as well.

It's possible they're rolling out some site changes and your account was in the first batch. I'd definitely be sad to see that feature go as well, very helpful as a buyer to know whether an item is newly listed or has been sitting around for a while.

I was just looking last night and had a hard time finding when items sold... used to be front and center... makes it harder to figure out current market values if you can't tell whether something sold yesterday or five years ago.

I just noticed that the Reverb display format differs between my Android phone vs. Windows PC. I just looked at the same listing on both, and the PC displays "listed 25 days ago" but the phone does not show that info.

OP here. Interesting. I just checked and found no time listed info on my PC, but it does appear in the mobile app.

I admit, I've become a bit obsessed watching Reverb for used mandolins. When I logged on last night the pages all looked different and the photos automatically scrolled and changed on me as I tried to expand and study them for detail. Dealing with the changing images was very annoying.

Today things seem to have returned to the previous version. The photos don't automatically scroll and the time listed information still shows up to indicate the overpriced instruments. Haha.

Happened to me last week on my iPhone. I complained to customer support. They weren’t aware so I sent them screen shots. Was ok on my pc. I think they’re testing some changes. If you don’t like what you see then complain.

It looks like they've done a little UX update for web and decided to omit this useful (for buyers) data. I expect they'll roll the changes out to the Android and iOS apps soon enough. It's possible that they're doing canary deployments of the update to a subset of customers on each platform.

I sent another complaint. This time they confirmed that their Dev team is testing out a new simplified listing without the date. The rep said he'd pass the feedback on. I suggest again that others make the same complaint/request to keep the date added feature.

I received a similar reply, but without any reference to 'testing'.

We removed listing age as part of an effort to simplify our listing pages and keep the focus on what matters most—the gear and its price. Even though we no longer display listing age, we still prioritize newer listings in search results.

I suspect there will be further "enhancements to the Reverb marketplace" such as fee hikes, paid prioritization etc before too long.

I don't use the Reverb app so my observations are limited to browsing from my Mac desktop but I've noticed that if I'm logged into my account that the days listed is no longer displayed but if I'm not logged in I can still see the days that that guitar was listed.
