Default Days are getting longer

Refreshing that I can see the sun still shining low on the horizon at 5:30pm Atlantic time, just before sunset.

Anyone else appreciate more daylight coming your way (if you live in such an area)?

I watch the sun sink into the sea as it makes its' way to you. It's always good to see the days getting longer - it's a sign of warmer times ahead. After all, heat makes things expand whilst the cold makes them contract - that's why days are longer in the summer and shorter in winter.

Yes! My breakfast snow bike rides are no longer in the dark. I'm about to leave the dungeon (data center) and I'll have some light and hear something other than fans.

I also appreciate the dark times too. In the worst this winter I finally started watching some modern TV - Netflix type shows.

We obviously live in different worlds.............. No sun for two days and continuing to snow.

Definitely, we can see the sun rise over the Wind River Mt Range and do notice the dawn being earlier

It seems a little asymmetrical here in Minnesota this year.

It's noticeably lighter in the evenings - still daylight at 5:30 - but I'm still getting up in the dark, it seems. I've not noticed much difference at the front end of the day.

Hey AE, I don't mind going to work in the dark but I do like it when there's light when I get home in the evening. Makes me think there's still time to do outdoor activities.

Funny you mentioned this.

I just mentioned that I noticed I drove all the way home in daylight yesterday!

Hi Dru,
Count me in. Man, I don't mind going to work in the dark, but I sure hate coming home in the dark. I'm starting to really hate the dead of winter. Back when I lived in the Shenandoah Valley, I felt as if I didn't see the sun for 3 months. It's better by quite a bit in GA, but still I hate it when it's pitch black at 5.

I'd be cool with keeping DST year round.
