Default How to put a 2 hour 21 minute video on a single DVD disk?

OK, I assume there is some way to do this. I have a 141 minute video that I want to burn to a single DVD disk. Most blank DVDs I see are limited to 120 minutes, although there are some hold up to 240 minutes of video.

My question is, if I obtain the 240 minute DVDs, will Apple's iDVD and my iMac DVD drive handle that media? Or will I need some other software/hardware?

Any insight is appreciated!

Thanks!
Dave

shouldn't be a problem but may want to check with the manufacturer's site for compatibility. could you chop it in half and/or compress it?

play music!

You just need software that can recode the original movie to compress the filesize.

As a result, you may notice some difference in quality if you play the DVD on a super high definition TV or computer screen, but the length of movie you are talking about should do fine for most purposes.

The video quality noticeably degrades on a single disk DVD if you try to stretch out to 3 hours or more.

I use this program for quick and dirty DVD making and burning (basically you select a DVD menu template, drag in your movie file, and let the program figure out how much to compress), but there are numerous software programs that can do the compression of the movie and allow you to use a more sophisticated DVD making program.

I'm pretty sure Apple Superdrives will burn to double layer DVDs. Should hold about 8gig...
