Takamine C132S
I'm new to classical guitars and just purchased a used 1986 Takamine C132S.I know the top is solid cedar and the backs and sides are rosewood. Is it solid rosewood or a laminate? The grain inside the guitar looks similar to the outside but it's hard to tell. I know the current C132S are all solid woods.

Steve: suggest you put your question over on the Takamine forum. Lots of knowledge about those fine instruments over at that site.
Good luck.

two answers
The newest 132 models have solid back with laminated sides
(no big deal,, sides dont matter much.. Those usually have a T for takamine on the headstock. The older ones,, have laminated sides and back.. If yours has the t on the headstock the back is probably solid,,, if it has nothing on the headstock,, its proabably laiminate sides and back.. Only the Hirades have solid sides and back.. If you like the instrument,, you should be fine either way.. Rick |

Thanks for the reponses,Rick you're right I emailed Takamine and they confirmed what you said.It is a pretty guitar and sounds pretty good to my
ear.The person I brought it from had a very expensive Kenny Hill classical with a sound port. The difference to my ear the Kenny Hill was louder and had little more defination, but the Takamine held it's own for non all wood guitar.
