Pedal for click/metronome
Can you recommend a good pedal for live use which I will use to engage with a foot to play simple metronome beats, like quarters or eights? I want to improve my sense of rhythm, and more than that - to add some percussion flavor to my solo acoustic gigs. So it wouldn't hurt if the sound of the click sounds are accompanying the guitar in a nice way. Tap tempo button would be welcome as well!

If you use an iPad/iPhone you could plug it into a DI box and run Garageband.
Other iOS and Android options are available. As real-time sync isn't vital you could actually do it via Bluetooth instead.

I notice there's the Korg KR Mini on Amazon for around $50. You can't get much simpler than that, and it's stand alone, so no need to patch it into your amplification chain.

Not a pedal, an app (iOS, or Android) called Dr. Betotte. It is a software replication of the Dr Beat (BOSS) DB-88 which is a professional metronome. Best and most complete configurable metronome for portable devices. If you are looking to get really serious and you have a cell phone, this is IT. I'm not sure but it may be free these days (I've had mine since about 2008). I also own the Dr Beat (BOSS), which is a $189 hardware unit. It's loud enough to be heard over a live drum kit. These are definitely more complex than many simple (inexpensive) app metronomes, which is what you are looking for. This is the type of software/hardware professional stage drummers and teachers opt for. |
