Default Rosewood fingerboard colour

Hi, I am currently looking to purchase a new Godin Concert. The one my local store has a very light colored rosewood finger board compared to other in the shop. Is this just cosmetic? Is it dry? Thank you

Sure I guess it could be just dry, depends on how long they've had it.

OTOH, if it's a new build there is a chance it could also be Pau Ferro which is becoming more widely used since Rosewood is becoming so heavily regulated and protected.

It is most certainly Rosewood and a new build. I have since been told by Godin that Rosewood fret boards can vary in appearance.
