Nothing beats the entertainment value of a Cup run, what a blast.

Incredible that the Bolts were held to one shot in the first 15 minutes of the 3rd.

Now we get to see why Tampa Bay's 4 year run (I'm including the 2018-2019 President's Cup) is so impressive. Avalanche free agents:

Andre Burakovsky
Nazem Kadri
Valeri Nichushkin
Artturi Lehkonen
Nicolas Aube-Kubel
Darren Helm
Nico Sturm
Andrew Cogliano
Josh Manson
Ryan Murray
Jack Johnson
Darcy Kuemper

As we now drift into the summer doldrums, I'd like to thank my fellow hockey fans here on the AGF for a most enjoyable thread. It was a great season, an epic playoff series topped off by a great SCF.
Here's to 2022-2023!

Nicely said, Larry. You all get 2 weeks off, then free agency

Congrats on your Avalanche, Paul! This core team finally got it together. Although Florida had the better record in the regular season, Colorado was the best team this year - they had nothing to play for the final couple of weeks of the season (hence the reason they finished 2nd overall).

MacKinnon will be brining the Cup back to Halifax Nova Scotia, just like Crosby and Marchand have done.

Larry, great chatting with you and everyone else in this thread. Thanks for sharing your knowledge as well.

Next up, the NHL Draft.

Why does this championship seem so much harder than any of the others?

It's a long haul and add the physical contact it's tough. MLB/NBA don't have anywhere near the jarring hits in their playoffs. The NFL has those hits but a team can win the Super Bowl in just 3 games.

Imo, professional hockey players are the absolute elite among all team sports.

Did you see the big ding in the Cup? It happened during the team picture on the ice. It's going to get fixed.

If only the Stanley Cup could talk, what stories over the years. Many we know of, and I'm sure many we do not know.

Right there with you, Tom! The ultimate team sport. An assist is as valuable (literally) as the goal.

Congrats to the Saint John Sea Dogs (out of New Brunswick) for winning the Memorial Cup last night! As the host team, they were automatically in the final four with the Quebec, Ontario, and Western league champions also advancing.

For those who don't know, the Memorial Cup is awarded to the Canadian Hockey League's top Junior team. There are 52 Canadian teams and 8 US teams.

It's a hard row to hoe. The Tampa coach mentioned that if it was the regular season half his team would be down to heal up. Come the playoffs those guys grit it up and come to play. Hockey players look to the Cup. They are a feisty bunch and you have to respect that. As fans it is nice to win. As players it means so much more especially in hockey. My opinion. It's a kids dream that only so many realize. Congrats, Co! Take good care of the cup!

Too Many Men, lol. I bet the Lightning and their fans aren't laughing at that shirt though.

Ouch! That is rather taunting and bordering on rude. But hey, he won a Stanley Cup. Yeah, Lightning fans would not be amused. Kind of funny though.
