yes the clean sound is what i would be looking for . More of a James Burton or Danny Gatton sound but i guess that would be hard to get thru my Soloamp.

If I wanted it to sound like an electric guitar, I'd use a preamp pedal or multi effect with speaker emulation, between guitar and amp.

I used my Fishman Loudbox mini for some jams with my tele - I prefer a clean sound but a overdrive pedal (rather than overdriving the amp) for a bit of grit worked fine. It did suffer from lack of volume when other guitarists joined in - why do other guitarists play so loud? - but was fine for bass, drums, one guitar.

I love the clean Strat sound through my mini loud box. Add a delay pedal and some reverb and you’ve got a cool rockabilly vibe going on. And it’s at volume levels that are neighbor and family-friendly for practicing at home.

I have zero experience in this department but added this to my Sweetwater Wish List for experimenting with at some point. One of the more expensive options at $399, Strymon Iridium Amp & IR Cab Pedal. Filed away a couple of the pedals mentioned here, thanks all
