Toyohiko Satoh CD 'The Art of Spanish Variations'
This 1991 CD is I think my favorite recording on vihuela, a Bert Kwakkel instrument that's closely recorded, but not too much so. Satoh's playing
is really satisfying, I think; slowish tempos, not overtly virtuosic but well shaped, with beautiful ornaments that flow. https://www.allmusic.com/album/the-a...s-mw0001805181 |
