Default New member and story!

Hi everybody, greetings from Brazil! Hope everybody is well and healthy! I am amateur guitar player (a kind of beginner level in the last 20 years). I have been playing classic rock in a band with friends for the last 12 years (ocasionally playing in bars or in friend’s birthday parties). I never care that much for acoustic guitars but gradually it come to my interest. I always like old blues and last year I watched a documentary about Robert Johnson on Netflix. Shortly after I bought a Taylor 324ce. I have discovered the AGF and started my journey! In the beginning of the year I have come across with a mint 2005 Martin Om41 special. After I bought the 324 I became curious about having a traditional spruce/rosewood combo. I bought it and shortly after COViD came to my country. Despite all pandemia horror and sadness I had more time to be with my family and play. After so many years walking to the side I am moving forward and probably I am more an acoustic player than electric. What a joy to wake up and play these beauties (probably with a clear ear) and hear all these beautiful tones and overtones. I have discovered delta blues and fingerpicking like Tommy Emmanuel, Elizabeth Cotten and Big Bill Broonzy among others. This have been an wonderful journey and would like to thank everyone here for being part of it with my daily readings learning about music and incredible guitars! Best regards David

From one David to another, welcome. This community has bee a great source of information and inspiration for me as well.
If you are not familiar with this sub-genre of American blues, you may find it interesting: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bentonia,_Mississippi. If it strikes a chord, check out the YouTube videos of some of the Bentonia luminaries. I'd love to go down there and see and hear it for myself. But, given the state of the world, that might be a while.
Wish you and your countrymen and women all the best. Here in the US we see how the pandemic has ravaged Brazil mercilessly.

Thank you very much!!! Regarding COVID, unfortunately, both countries (US and Brazil) are, respectively, the leaders of tha plague! Stay healthy!

Olá David!

You are blessed to live in country that has contributed substantially to the art of acoustic guitar playing. Luiz Bonfá is one of my absolutely favorite musicians.
