Hi Barry, I have downloaded it to MP4 format but 'transcribe software' cannot read the file. What format do I need to convert the file/video to? Cheers

I know a guy......

So there is a music school grad who was doing transcriptions on the side. I email him once or twice a year and he will professionally and accurately transcribe and provide .pro files pdf's, tabs and sheet music.

The cheapest was a simple song for $30. The most was a very complex and incredibly difficult classical song for $120.

The guy is amazing.

PM me if youre interested and Ill put you in contact with him.

Transcribe opens mp3 and mp4 files.

Hi, I don't "get" tablature, but I can see that they are playing in E and so the chords are easy to find:

E B7 E

E E7 A
I was waltzing with my darlin', to the Tennessee Waltz
E B7
When an old friend I happened to see
E
I introduced her to my loved one,
E7 A
And while they were waltzing,
E B7 E
my friend stole my sweetheart from me.
E G#7 A E
I remember that night and the Tennessee Waltz,
B7
only you know how much I have lost
E E7 A
Yes, I lost my little darlin', the night they were playing,
E B7 E
that beautiful Tennessee Waltz.

CH:
E G#7 A E
Yes I remember that night and the Tennessee Waltz,
B7
only you know how much I have lost
E E7 A
Yes, I lost my little darlin', the night they were playing,
E B7 E
that beautiful Tennessee Waltz.

the young lady playing the lead line seems to be playing over the chorus progr. as she goes to the Ab (G#)

If you really(?) wanted to copy her break note for note, I guess you'd have to play it over and over, and write it down or something, but surely , much easier - and more fun - why not just find the melody in E from the chord progression and then add your own style?

Hope this helps.

I was watching that video a few times and it occured t me that the youg lady playing lead was playing in a style that made me think she was an electric guitarist.

I poked around some of their lovely videos, and discovered that she is Toni Lindgren and she has her own Y/T channel - which might be helpful for you.

Lovely to see Reina, and Toni and friends playing so beautifully.

Yeah I discovered Reina and Toni from a post here on AGF that showed this other video. I watched some vids and Toni is also an electric player - she (iirc) went to school for music and guitar so is a formally/classically trained guitarist. And she has a nice voice in this video.

Not to derail the OP question (which I already replied to) but the topic morphed a little to talk about the artists

Transcribe should read MP4s, I've done it before. It can take a few seconds to load, because it has to read the video, and it then opens a video window alongside the usual one.
Maybe the MP4 is corrupted in some way? Does it play in other software?

The guy who designed transcribe is quite approachable so you might get tips if you email him.

Otherwise, you can always slow down youtube for checking fingering. I rarely use Transcribe for video now, I just record it in real time (as a wav), and if I need video reference I just slow down the youtube - the space and arrow keys can be used for pausing, playing, and shuffling back and forth a few seconds.

Cheers everyone for your generous contribution and time, sorry for not responding earlier.

Jon and Barry, I am still having trouble with the 'Transcribe' don't know why.
By the way Jon, I like your idea on slowing the song down. I can see I'm going to have some fun.

Cheers Rick

Fazool I will PM you, thank you that will be great for future songs.

SM thank you so much. Yes I figured it was played in 'E' I was hoping to learn the lead part and who better to ask than AGF members. I will try and poke around and see how I go. By the way 'Thank you' for going through all that trouble of writing the lyrics and figuring the chords for me. Greatly appreciated.

Yes these two lovely ladies are so talented, I just love both the guitars in this song, they compliment each other nicely. Especially the lead, I just love it.

Thanks again everyone. Cheers

Transcribe is software that you buy and download, then install on your PC. It opens mp3 and mp4 files. To view the video in Transcribe you may have to install something called "Gstream" which is available on the transcribe home page somewhere I believe.

Oh yes, I forgot that!
Tips here: https://www.seventhstring.com/xscribe/video.html

I'll just point out that the first month after you download is free. You pay to register after that.
