Now I'm noticing that the "Made in Japan" lettering on the label in the pic you posted has been smeared and rendered unintelligible. Hmmm.

As mentioned above, it looks Japanese; maybe late 70s / 80s. The label reminds me of the (quite well-made) Horabe guitars of that period. Do you have any more photos, esp of the peghead and rosette areas?

Sherry Brenner
Look up Sherry Brenner. He was fond of taking Spanish luthiers and putting their names on Japanese guitars that he would sell as Spanish masterpieces. Consider yourself lucky you didn’t get it, but the Sherry Brenner story is fascinating, kind of a guitar who dunnit. I don’t know if that guitar was part of that story but it’s possible it was. By the way, some of the guitars were ok. Just no way to know.
