Hi Paul,

Indeed good eye! really nice color albeit invisible

Tom just finished the bevel with the Braz binding. I have it on my model M and it enhances comfort while being discreet. Still, you have to admire the design and wood working skills..

Hi everyone,
Tom has made great progress over the past couple of weeks. The guitar is now almost ready for laquer and just missing a bit more sanding. I will share a video to show you the complete package in a few days
Again a really cohesive ensemble with the Brazilian appointments all around, keeping the aesthetics simple and letting the woods do the talking. From close the colour variations are quite stunning, and Tom himself said it's set up to be a stunning guitar. The work is so surgically clean, from the copper dots to the fingerboard extension.

And that silking on the redwood top... Richard Hoover really has quite the stash. Also look how the headstock colors match the cap, details details!

Thanks for the kind words Robert, even if Tom makes it easy with his great guidance. The guitar is now ready for laquer and Tom has sent these couple of pictures. I hope you find them as mouth watering as I do.

I found the pictures and AGF's built in compression not making justice completely, so I am adding a couple of close up
The is really crazy, and that back has received the some pore fillers.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Tom is racing ahead and has already advanced on the finish as he's now internalized the process.
I just got some pictures of the guitar and it's coming together quite beautifully, from the silky top to the beautiful Brazilian. Tom will also tint the neck slightly to make it darker and better fit the ensemble (it's Spanish cedar).

Default A bit of spice...

And finally the chef's surprise... We wanted to add a splash of color on this understated / minimalistic-looking guitar, so taking inspiration from Salacia the bridge pins will be green with gold hues. also done by hand...

WhatsApp Image 2023-11-27 at 13.15.13.jpg

The tuner heads will also be in the same color, echoing the green purfling.
As always thanks for watching.

Default Finish completed!

The guitar is now finished and the neck glued on!
As Tom is now doing the finish himself, he shared pictures regularly and that gave me a renewed sense of appreciation for how intense (and stressful..) the process is. the repeated coating and sanding to different grits, and I was so impressed with the result that I jokingly asked whether he uses a microscope for it. Little that I know he was actually checking the guitar with a magnifying glass! Talking about dedication and perfectionism.
