Default How do you wrap your guitar stand?

I know it will have to be 100% cotton. some people uses tee shirt, gloves, socks, etc. But how do you exactly wrap all the major important contacting points ? I also wish all the guitar stand makers provided with protective sleeve covers, especially since everybody these days know their guitar stand can melt some of the guitar finish.

I've been laying microfiber shop cloths from Sam's Club on the neck and body rests. They stay put without wrapping them. I suppose a t-shirt might cover both at once (might have to sew the neck hole shut....)

I got some black material from my wife's sewing pile. Cut into about 2 inch width, wrap it and tie it off.

Errrrr....I don't. Should I be?

My guitar stands and hangers all have that ubiquitous black foam stuff on the contact points. I've had electric guitars with poly and lacquer finishes, plus a variety of acoustics. Haven't seen any effect on the finishes whatsoever.

I have several String Swing hangers.
I bought a yard of dark brown cotton cloth. Washed and dried it first.
Cut strips 2" wide by 11" long.
Folded 2" from each end over to form a pocket on each end and sewed the flaps down along the top and bottom edges. Now you have a 7" long strip with a 2" pocket on each end.
Slip each pocket end over the fork ends of the stand or wall hanger so the rest of the strip lays against the curve of the fork.
Made about 25 of these.
No worries no matter what kind of guitar I put on the hanger. And it looks alot neater than microfiber clothes hanging behind the headstocks like I used to have. I also use them on floor stands.

Well, the rubber contact points are still in great shape so no wrapping is necessary.

Been using Hercules stands and hangers since 2005, and nary a problem.

Feeling no desire, nor need, to wrap anything...

I "think" that most guitar stands nowadays use safe padding that does not react with finishes. To me this was a problem many many years ago, I have all my Martins out on stands all the time, nothing fancy from GC and they don't "react" with the Nitro finish.

Sounds good. They must make great product. I have heard so many horror stories about how their guitar stands has damaged their beloved guitars...

I wrap my guitar stands with fairy dust, on a weekly basis.

("Tink" hates when I shake her, any more often than that!)
