Default Listing for Sale on Both AGF and Reverb. How Does That Work?

Just curious about listing something for sale on both the AGF and Reverb. I see lots of Forumites doing that and referring the looker directly to their reverb listing.

My question is this:

What if you're double listed and sell through the AGF. Do you still owe the commission to Reverb? How does that play out?

Thanks in advance.

I’ve had good success listing for more on Reverb (because they take a commission) and using that link for photo references on the AGF post. I’ve used Imgur for posting images on the AGF but that’s a little time-consuming. Maybe I don’t have it figured out right.

You don’t owe Reverb anything unless you accept an offer on their site or someone buys using Reverb. The benefit to posting on AGF is that some AGF members might feel more secure when dealing with Reverb vs a direct PayPal transaction and emailing back and forth directly. So you will have a potential faster sale. I always prefer direct PayPal and talking to the buyer for awhile vs. a cold Reverb sale where you pay the fees.

No....you end the sale on Reverb. It will ask you if the sale was completed on Reverb or not, just answer not on Reverb, and your done. No fee charged.

Plus, it's easier to post pics & details on Reverb, than it is on AGF. So I post a Reverb listing first, with all pics & specs, then create a listing on AGF, with a link to the Reverb listing. Wherever it sells, that's where you owe allegiance.

Well put. Just hope you don’t get simultaneous sales...

I do both simultaneously. Always price higher on Reverb than on AGF. Not only to give a break to AGF... but to avoid fees. Between payment and reverb commission, including optional bump... you are at 7% not including shipping
