SOLD! Santa Cruz OM/PW with K&K Mini pickup (2012)
Up for your consideration is a 2012 Santa Cruz OM/PW. Rather than the standard rosewood back and sides on this model, this one has mahogany. In contacting Santa Cruz guitars with the serial number, the mahogany back and sides constitute it as being custom.
It's a player's-grade instrument and is priced accordingly. There are several dings/light scratches and I have photographed most of them of any significance. These are all purely cosmetic. Structurally this guitar is in great shape. It has opened up beautifully over the years and sounds fantastic. The bracing is tight, the action is great, there is no inappropriate soundboard bowing, no cracks in the wood, truss rod works fine, and there is plenty of height on the saddle. It plays easily with a good setup and a comfortable, medium-sized neck with a soft V. There is some fret wear (see pic) but it’s a long way from needing any fret work done. This guitar was evaluated by a local luthier in 2018 and was found to need nothing. It has continued to be kept in a properly humidified, non-smoking environment. It has a professionally installed K&K pure mini pickup. The original Armitage case is in good condition. All latches work perfectly. This is a great opportunity to own a Santa Cruz OM/PW at a fraction of the price. I never thought I’d let it go as it has been my “holy grail” but need to now move it on.
