I haven't had cable in a decade. I stream Paramount+ (which includes CBS/local news), Amazon Prime, Hulu and Sirius. I just picked up Showtime for a special deal for four months after which I'll drop it...

We haven't watched TV in 7 or 8 years, cancelled service about 6 years ago. Our TV was a 60 inch Sony LCD bought new in 2001 so no streaming services available, no HDMI, either. We gave that to our son a few months ago for his PlayStation and it kind of overwhelms his small apartment.

However, we have a new Sony 75" X95J LED that should be here Wednesday and it has Prime, Netflix, YouTube, etc. so we'll probably stream some movies. The cool thing about getting a new TV is that I get to build a media stand for it - Cherry, Ambrosia Curly Maple, and Curly Koa!

I don't have cable or dish. I do have two smart TVs. On the antenna I get 36 channels. I watch the news NPR and Fallon on antenna regularly. In the evenings I stream Netflix, Prime, Paramount, and HBO Max. I watch YouTube on them sometimes. During the unmentionable I got hooked on Heartland Hootenanny. My wife streams everything from yoga to Broadway plays. I don't know where it all comes from. I just show up for it. Not for yoga, I don't do yoga.

We pay for Philo for a bunch of dipping* channels, along with Acorn and Prime Video.

My son pays for Netflix.

* By ‘dipping’ channels, I mean those we ‘dip’ into every once in a while when we need to fill a half hour with something undemanding.

Also we have an antenna for locals, with a Tablo DVR, for which we pay a very modest amount for the channel guide.

We are never without something good to watch.

I have DirecTV satellite service and pay extra only for NHL Center Ice.

I also pay for Amazon Prime. Depending on what my wife and I are interested in watching on other streaming services we will add one and subtract another on a rotating basis, currently paying for Hulu and Britbox, but have had Netflix and Masterpiece at times.

Where I live there is no cable and no broadcast channels
So we have Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime,,,,,,,,and the local Wild Critters Network right out our windows, which is free but I suppose comes included in the cost and energy it takes to live here

I was paying a ridiculous amount for DSL cable (WNC). Cut the cable and now have seven paid channels that are cheaper then cable TV was. And my internet is loads faster and more stable.

Zero, now.
We were DTV customers for over 15yrs...got to the point that cost versus value got way out of balance. Had 250 channels, and could no longer stand to watch even 3 of them...just kept paying $150/month for years...
We finally cut the cord a few months ago...now stream free channels at zero cost, and don't miss a thing.

We do the antenna thing. In our area that's about sixteen channels. We go through cable for the internet. We have a roku and Amazon Prime. We mostly watch the evening news and then something off of roku later in the evening.

We have cable and internet. Internet is slow and glitchy and there’s nothing on tv worth watching except my wife binging Hallmark channel. (I’m a YouTube junkie) I wonder if dropping the TV would affect internet quality???

Dropping a cable service should have no effect on internet quality, assuming there is no change in the internet speed.

When we first got to Western NC 4 years ago, the only option was Verizon/dish package. It was terrible service. Then a hardwired service became available from a local company and we have not looked back.

None.
Never have ... no dish, no disc, no cable, no antenna.
Nothing.

The TV is hooked up to a DVD and a VHS player, so I can watch things, but my 20 yr old television probably has less than 200 hrs on it.

I’m not making this up.

Okay, I’ll crawl back under the rock.

You will have company. No dish, no cable, no disc. I do have rabbit ears (now digital rabbit ears) so I do get three broadcast channels (all Canadian networks of course). The only real reason is to watch the early morning news.

But, darn darn darn I sure would like to see that Beatles 3-part thing. Sigh. Oh well.

Don’t really know since my wife keeps cancelling and subscribing to whatever service is featuring the current Hunk, who at present seems to be a character named “Rip.”
