Edmonton Esk...errr Elks?

CFL much better than NFL imo
longer and wider field
only 3 downs
12 instead of 11 on field
20yrd instead of 10 ends
and different rules on TOs overtimes and other idiosyncrasies i believe?

used to love CFL when my Son played football

Agreed, especially love the bigger field, plus backfield in motion. I'm not a big football fan, the Grey Cup and the Super Bowl are the only games I try to watch every year. I might watch the CFL more if it were on TV here.

Craig, Gabe, Rider fans are everywhere!

Fajardo played the same as Lamar Jackson (Baltimore) did last night - both had 4 INTs and both won.

How does next week's Division Championship shape up with the Riders and Blue Bombers? Winnipeg was the best team with wins, points scored and points allowed.

Ooooh, me nerves!

Calgary was nice enough to make a couple more mistakes than the Riders did (which was a lot) but the Bombers won't likely be so accommodating.
In order for the Riders to win, there will probably need to be some luck involved - a little good for the Riders and a little bad for the Bombers. Could happen.

Oh, and benching Shaq Evans couldn't hurt either.

So Dru,

When do you think we'll be able to go to a Riders/Schooners game in Halifax?

That would be awesome! I went to the first Touchdown Atlantic game in Moncton 10 years ago. Regular season game, Toronto/Edmonton. Sell out, great atmosphere, warm summer day.

Halifax was having an issue trying to secure a location to build a stadium. There were plans in motion 1.5 years ago (as you know) but they're on hold. I don't see any municipal or provincial funds going to the CFL in NS anytime soon.

I'm hoping it will be the reverse of the last showdown...

Anyway the Riders are the Minnesota Vikings of the CFL who tend to choke during the Grey Cup.

I was excited to see the Riders win a few years ago. A couple of years prior, the 'too many men on the field' on the missed field goal as time expired was a Grey Cup brutal loss. I can still see Paul LaPolice's (offensive coordinator's) face.

That made my shortlist of all time low points as a Rider fan, exceeded only by Tony Gabriel (*spits on the floor*) catching that pass at the end of the '76 Grey Cup.

Didn't see this thread. I haven't kept up much with football the last several years to be honest, but as a Saskatchewanian you can guess who I cheer for. My wife's first cousin actually got drafted to them, was injured all season.

I wanted to comment on the Redblacks name... if ALL the options there could have been for a name, MILLIONS of options, they choose one in pretty sure a 3 year came up with. I'm embarrassed about it and not even a fan of the team.

I'm surprised Edmonton didn't rename as the Greenyellows...

A Red Black is a colloquial term for a Canadian Lumberjack shirt. I suppose they could advertise that better but most Canadians know this. As for other names, it’s 2021 and far past due to get racial references out of pro sports teams names. In my opinion given where Edmonton is Elks is a good name

Oh and Oskie Wee wee Tigers eat em raw!

Hmm, interesting, I've never heard that term before in my life, and I wear paid regularly, as does my father and brother, brother in law, I guess most people I know lol

I had to google 'wobbly pops' .

I don't see the Riders pulling this off but hoping. They'll lose by 17+ or win a tight one. Go Riders!
