It's a muti-purpose room and I am not a fan of near field monitors. For solo guitar at least I am happy using headphones in the DAW.
Also I feel these days that most people (including me) usually listen to music through headphones anyway.
According to a 2017 Statista survey, 87 percent of the U.S. respondents use their headphones to listen to music.

We're fast approaching a time when we should be investing our money into hearing aid stock.

I am using Amphion One 18's passive, driven by an Amphion 100 D class Amp
Retail now for $3000 for a pair ... the amp is no longer mfg. but was $1000 if I remember correctly
Previously I had a pair KRK V8's

Monitor speakers: a pair of JBL 308P MkII

I like them OK, though my untreated small home bedroom/now home office-"studio B" probably doesn't do them any favors.

I actually do a lot of work mixing and mastering on my Sennheiser HD600 headphones, though I try to check things on the monitors. I've already mentioned my space isn't ideal, but on top of that family needs mean I can't monitor even at low levels with the JBLs a significant portion of the time.

I use KRK 6000 passives with a Bryston 2B power amp, plus a pair of DIY 4” full range drivers in ported enclosures with specs borrowed from the Fostex website (a treasure trove). Another Bryston powering those. Plus a Tivoli radio with a brute-force-mono-izing aux input. All fed by a Mackie active Big Knob.

Pair of Daedalus w-803's powered by a Parasound 2125 in an untreated room. Seems to work fine in my untreated space.
