Default A few vinyl recommendations - December 2020

I am also a vinyl record collector and listen to a lot of different music. A few recommendations from music that has arrived in the last month... I really like the shop Acoustic Sounds for the care they take in selecting, packing and shipping their vinyl. Their company is also home to a studio and record pressing plant and they specialize in audiophile recordings.

Tim Weed - Light and Dark
A five string banjo and the Prague Metropolitan Orchestra. Yes, the owner of the Acoustic Guitar Forum just recommended a banjo album. Please check it out...

Nickel Creek - This Side - new 45RPM pressing of a great little album from this bluegrass band produced by Alison Krauss

Al Di Meola - Pursuit of Radical Rhapsody. Really good sounding pressing of this future classic from Al Di Meola.

James Williamson and Deniz Tek - Two to One. Just a great rock album from James Williamson of the Stooges and TV Jones Deniz Tek

Randall Bramblett - Pine Needle Fire - soulful 12th album from this singer-songwriter

Yes, that's one thing I love about vinyl. The 12x12" artwork format.

Adding a few recommendations to the list..

I enjoy a good western. If you do too, you will probably enjoy this collection of historic and original tunes from Canada's Colter Wall - Western Swing and Waltzes and Other Punchy Songs. (I know the vinyl is sold out everywhere but you can still get the CD or stream it.)

Highly recommend this album from Norwegian guitarist Terje Rypdal - Conspiracy

Read that & I thought Terje Rypdal! Haven't heard anything about him for a while. So I looked it up & it turns out it's his first studio album in 20 years!
If he's been woodshedding all that time it must be a monster!
