"Pre Factory" PRS CE-24 with BIRDS 1994 Vintage Yellow - on hold
6/4 update - on hold.
5/6 Update - Hoping to move along this sweet guitar to a loving home, reduced price on Reverb, and also here. --- Hi everyone, I sometimes try to reconnect with the electric guitar player in me, but it seems like it only happens on occasions few and far between. So as much as I love having this one around, I thought I'd see if there was someone out there who'd play it more than me. It's a 1994 CE-24, with the "pre factory" alder body and small neck heel. Nicely figured top in vintage yellow (a great PRS color). I will enthusiastically point out that there are birds on this one, which is very unusual and cool for a guitar of this model and year. I'm hoping that someone who is also excited by that detail, would be the one that buys this guitar. It's also in very good condition for its age, with only regular handling wear you might expect after 25 years. Frets have only mild wear. But really, super clean. It comes with the OHC and tremolo bar. Reverb listing with more photos here. 1.jpg 2.jpg 3.jpg If you'd like additional details, more pictures, just say hello! Thanks for looking. UNADJUSTEDNONRAW_thumb_6ed copy.jpg I think it's a regular neck carve, the nut width is 1 21/32" (right around 1 5/8") Anything else let me know. |

Pre Factory body would be 1984 or older. I had a PRS from the first factory year
1985 with serial# 0069. Your body would have to be a left over from 1984 or before. The first few years of factory builds were only 24fret Customs and Standards, no 10 tops all Brazilian boards and real Honduran MAHOGANY backs. This was the first factory with the second being started in the mid 90's. My Guitar came from the first factory order of 30 pieces to Sam Ash Guitars in White plains New York Last edited by bluetweed; 03-28-2019 at 01:53 PM. |

I once had the 95 variety (same Vintage Yellow) and it was great.
Sported the fattest Wide/FAT neck I have had out of 15 plus PRS's. Mine had the large heel. The Dragon PU's. It is rare to find these mid 90's CE-22's or 24's so light. All the ones I have seen are around 8.5 lbs. Maybe because they were solid mahogany, instead of alder, under striped flame maple? Someone is going to love this one. |

It's crazy, but there's one out there that's under 7lbs for sale. But it's in much worse condition and has a wide/thin neck.

These older CE's are such good instruments. I had a blue one for a while that I loved and often times wish I could have it back - along with the time to play it!
Good luck with the sale; it's a good deal for a sweet-looking guitar.

Bump for a cool PRS at a nice price. Really didn't think I'd drop it so low but I suppose the market has spoken. On hold.
