Default 1989 Santa Cruz Brazilian OM

For sale is a 1989 Brazilian Rosewood Santa Cruz OM- Serial number OM-92. Amazing binding and purfling around the edges and the sound hole. Dark, straight grained Brazilian Rosewood with some dark purple on the back. Excellent plus condition- no visible wears or dings. Had a neck reset several years ago.

Asking $5,000.00 shipped and pay-pal'd. Might be interested in trades as long as I clear $3,000.00- most likely, another OM.

Thanks for looking.

Any other specs? Top wood, spacing at nut/bridge?

As I recall, the top is Engelmann Spruce- I do not recall any spruce upgrade when I bought the instrument back in 1989. It's whatever standard spruce SCGC was using (I am the original owner).

I will measure the widths and post them.

Thanks

If you can please take the guitar outside and shot the back and sides in the sunlight it might help make it easier to see the grain...

If you shoot against a dark background, the grain will show better. Sunlight might not help unless the background is dark. Just my .02.

I did check into this - it has a 1-11/16” nut - if it had been 1-¾” or more, it’d already be at my house - beautiful guitar -

Did you also confirm any other specs like top wood or string spacing at the bridge? I thought about calling SCGC but if you’ve already done so any info would be helpful.

No - he just sent me a couple pics with a ruler - I think this is a basic, stock OM of that period - anyone who can play a 11/16 nut and has some cash could only make themselves a very happy person buying this - I’m almost tempted to have new neck made cause its almost cheap enough for that to be a reasonable option - but I have a couple braz SCs, so . . . .

Thanks for your help- obviously, I have owned the guitar for quite some time and I don't have a lot of experience in selling or buying high end acoustics.

If anyone else has any questions, I'll do my best.

Thanks again

Some updated pics attached trying to better show the back and sides. I can email these to anyone who is interested. A couple of points:

1. These are in direct sunlight.

2. Any smudges are the camera- the guitar has none.
