Default Recommend Home WiFi Camera System

As the title says...
Mostly for checking on pets while away.
Would like a real clear picture to access with a smartphone.
And ability to switch between several views.
Thanks!

I'm using Arlo for outside security. Pretty amazingly clear video. I put this "incident" up on youtube...

Have been very satisfied with a Nest system. We have the security package and use it for our store, with 4 cameras total.

Hmm... thinking both of these may be a little much for pet monitoring.
I also read up on the Blink system.
I am afraid that the cat and small dog would constantly be setting them off?
We have a small pet door and they go in and out a lot.

Maybe it’s improved, but we replaced a blink system with nest three years ago. The blink cameras went through batteries quickly, and the software was buggy. Enough nest cameras to cover your area would suffice. You can add 30 days of 24/7 recording for $6/month. Motion alerts will be excessive, and can be turned off, and you can check the cameras whenever you want. There is a microphone function, and you can also speak. Would be cool if you saw a pet doing something it wasn’t supposed to, and it heard your voice telling them to stop.

Our blink cameras work well. We use them inside and outside. And now they have a new inexpensive inside camera that plugs into a wall socket so you don't have to worry about batteries.

If you are really looking to keep an eye on your pet....
We have a Furbo. It’s a canister shaped object that sits on a shelf (movable as you see fit). It connects to the cloud and films what is happening. Motion detection, night vision, can access recordings from your phone or see what’s going on live. Has a bark alert. AND, it has a voice thingy so you can talk to your pet remotely. AND, you can reward your pet but throwing them treats.

Silly? Sure, but it was a gift from my daughter. Does it all.

Nice.
Is this a stand alone item or does it require other hardware or software?

I just installed some super cheap wifi cameras in the barn. They were $26 bucks (i think) on amazon and have pan and tilt capability. We put each one between two stalls and can control them from our phones to swing them back and forth to whichever stall we're monitoring.

I don't remember the brand but it's an easy search to find all kinds of cameras at all different feature and price levels.

Again, excuse my ignorance.
Are these stand alone?
As in you only need WiFi and a router?
Thanks!

Totally standalone but you need the app to view what’s happening.
