Sexauer ‘19, chapter 1
Bruce, I'm not a frequent commenter on the forum. But if there is any thread I stalk on here, it's yours. I'm enamored with your process and guitars. Thanks for your graciousness and advice in Harrisburg.

Somehow I believe I failed to meet your cutest of kids. Perhaps he is less cute than the early pictures by now?

Lol as I'm reading he is mid tantrum. He's still cute most of the time...by the time we meet again, I suspect he'll be past his cute prime. |

Looks like I will be a proud Poppa myself at tomorrow's NCAL meeting. As it were, of course.

Beautiful work Pops. Those maple purflings you do are so tasty.

Delivered the Tree OM today. I think it is a great guitar. 3 for 3 on my work with the Tree.

Inspired by the "Tree" OM I am making 2 more OMs at the moment. The first is as close to a 1930 Martin OM as my work gets. Yesterday I buffed it out and today I will probably get the neck glued to the body.
Here are some pics of the current state: a little more light! |

The third OM is my own art, and today got sealer over the pore filler. It's another month till it will be cured and ready to assemble, but I show it here so you can get a sense of the materials, particularly in relation to the more traditional guitar in my previous post.

Great looking builds Bruce. You obviously are pleased with your "Tree" guitars, and those posts made me remember you did a build with Cuban Mahogany a while back. I was wondering what your impressions were of the Cuban Mh (compared to other Mahogany).
Thanks for all the build threads.

My one Cuban mahogany guitar, documented HERE, was made in 2016 for Schoenberg’s table at the first SBAIC. While it seemed very successful to me, so do nearly all of my guitars. I have not seen it since they sold it and it has blended. Over-written by my more recent pieces. I am currently basking in the sound of my latest Tree guitar, which came in yesterday for a truss rod tweak. Its tone is my idea of perfect, though the Cuban may have been as well.
