Gibson j29 and Guild d20?
Anyone here have experience with one of these models? I know they are very different. But I will buy one of these. They're both available with very affordable prices in a local website. I'm looking for a big fat dread tone.
If you played one of them (or both), How was your experience? Was it bassy/big sounding? how would you describe its tone? |

FWIW, I have a J-29 and I'm very pleased with it. Tone is "big," is the best I can do. Good luck with your quest!

Is it similar to a Martin d28? Thank you very much, I appreciate the answer!

I had a J-29 for about a year. It sounded like a rosewood J-45 but with a louder voice. Really big sound. It was a very nice guitar, only sold it because I was downsizing and had too much overlap in the rosewood category. No experience with the Guild.

my need for a D28 has disappeared since I got my J29 for me the notes seem to be more focused, more clarity perhaps.... |
