That is a beautiful piece of wood for that headstock.

I was meaning to ask, do you play violin also?

I'd have to admit to playing the violin about 3 hours for every hour I play the guitar at the moment, but that's only been true for about 15 years. I used to practice 4 hours a day, but I've slowed it to about 2 hours the last few years. At the moment I am working to bring by violin improvisational skills up to something like the level I can achieve with the guitar.

And the thickest back at the same time!

I buffed out the Mini-D body this afternoon and took some shots to try to show you how beautiful it is, but I know these are unlikely to do the job. Still:

I reckon this is a great Adi top, at least cosmetically.

One more to try to capture the BRW:

The redwood burl rosette is too dark to get a photo of that works unless I do ridiculous things to the contrast . . . so I did:

Four strings, it's a Tenor.

Bruce snuck in a few pictures on me, I have to comment. I love the finish, just enough gloss to bring out the beauty of the wood and what wood it is.

Although the recent carved instruments both sport my Cremonese ground, they are actually treated quite differently as far as color is concerned. The purpose of the ground, in this case, is to give a feeling of glowing inner light. Here the violin has its second coat of varnish, whereas the JZ has its seventh and likely final coat.

Ah, the "11 secret herbs and spices" in the Cremonese ground... Only the Colonel knows the recipe...

Bruce, the Mini-D looks incredible! Love that top! And the violin and arch top look incredible under finish. Whatever your secret recipe is, you got the inner glow you were going for! Can only imagine how it must look in person!

Been a while since I strung one up, but it went very smoothly this morning as I had a decent night's sleep, which has been elusive of late.

Here's yet another version of Jenny on the Railroad. Not an hour old!

I used the Schertler tuners:

So is there a discount now that it's a used guitar? Beautiful work as usual Bruce. Sounds great and nice playing on your part.
