Zoom R16. AWESOME device, if you ask me.
Portable, easy to use, room to grow if necessary, etc. Also will work as an interface with recording software and a controller. New, they're 400, which might be considerably more to you than some of the other devices mentioned - this is where I find the "room to grow" aspect valuable though. Not sure what used prices are. Haven't looked.
