Default NGD - Unboxing Martin OMC-35E

Picked this up on the SDOTD earlier in the week. It’s my first Martin, never knew a guitar could sound like this! This body shape is perfect. Very clear tone and beautiful harmonics coming through. Never realized how many overtones muddied up the sound of my jumbo, at least to my ears. I can finally hear my B and E strings ring though also. A surprising amount of bass coming out of this smaller body as well. Haven’t plugged it in yet, so I can’t comment on that.

It will take a little getting used to the Martin tone since I’ve always gravitated to a brighter guitar (previously had a 314 Taylor). I like it already though, very even tone across the whole spectrum.

I did expect a little better bookmarking along the seam, but that’s my only gripe. A bit of a dark streak on the treble side. I’ll get over that I guess.

I’ll post pics later. Have to setup an account somewhere I guess.

From what I remember, it was a ridiculously low (you might say 'stupid) price.

Wasn't it something like $1800?

$2100. I’ve been looking at the entire line and couldn’t pass it up. I’ll get more pics at rehearsal in a few hours.

Congrats !! Sweet looking guitar. I hope you enjoy it.

I just bought a GPC-35E and I'm loving it. Gets better the more you play it.
