Default NGD - 1998 Danelectro U2 Reissue

I picked this up today. Really neat guitar. I briefly had the jade reissue last year. I thought it was pretty nice, but I find this one to be much nicer - other than possibly the tuners. May swap those out for golden age 3-on-a-plate. I have a kind of odd fascination with Danelectro. This one plays and sounds great clean or dirty. And is in great shape. Interesting color - beatnik burgundy.

Those are pretty neat guitars, I used to have a bunch of the reissues from that batch.
Did you get the fake tweed gig bag with it?

I have a circa ‘98 metalflake blue 12 string Dano my wife and kids gave me for a birthday that year. After having the fret ends dressed and a good set up performed, it became a wonderful playing and especially good sounding guitar.

Enjoy your new Danelectro! Great color that is.

It came with the Danelectro branded Tweed hard case. Which is kind of cool. The case took a hit of shipping to me and has a crack/hole in it now - lines up perfectly with some box damage, but other than that, it is in great shape.

I did not keep the Jade reissue last Fall, but this one is staying.

Not that it matters all that much, but this is not the model that Jimmy Page played/still plays. This is a reissue of the model that preceded his model. Due to the location of the neck pickup on this model, it has a bit more of a traditional tone and actually does jazz clean tones very well. Just a moment of geeking out for the group.

Congrats! I don't think I could ever get beatnik burgundy because I can hardly put those two words together without messing up a syllable.

Cool looking guitar for sure. Enjoy.

Think of it as a dark, sparkly purple. I think they mean like wine burgundy. It's a neat color.
