Latest or Upcoming Battery PAs?

Hey folks!

Trying to get 1 speaker that i can use as a band wedge AND battery powered when needed. I have an Evolve50 for 90% gigs.
Ive had the Bose S1 Pro now currently have a JBL eon one compact battery PAs. Both are fantastic but i use a stomp for my acoustic shows and both are underpowered a tad.
Yorkville EXM Mobile 8 (cant find in AUS) or a Roland BA330 could suit possibly...

Anything new out there or being released soon that would fit my needs in output mainly, 10-12 inch woofer, can be used as a wedge for band (with drums) for vocals, electric guitar direct (no amp style). Has to be battery powered when needed though and onboard reverb. Also needs to be available to Australia somehow.

JBL eon one (8 inch woofer) in a 10 inch would be ideal, just cant seen to find something.

There may well be something 'out there'.

I'd sure want something that can be powered by an external battery bank, not have an internal battery. Internal batteries (even lithium ion) eventually loose power, the ability to charge fully, etc.

You might find the speaker and then find out the power requirements to power it externally.

I power my ToneDexter pedal (which requires 9-15v) from an external power supply which will allow it to function for 6 hours (at least) and it supplies 500ma via a typical pedal style interface.

And I own several USB powered computer recording interfaces which I have powered for several hours using external power banks.

Typical of so many external battery power supplies, it is third party, and it can charge other battery powered 'objects' as well.

I know there are folks here who have bought external battery powered units which can supply wall-style power for amps and speakers. There are some limitations which I'm sure they will be happy to suggest.

New battery powered speakers/PAs have been pretty quiet since covid. The newest products are the 8” Mackie Thump Go and JBL Eon MK2 array which really don’t fit your bill. Personally owned the Roland BA330 and can’t recommend it. Also have an AC-33 that has been repaired twice now in it’s lifetime (Boss/Roland are cheaply built IMO).

Check these out though: don’t know a heck of a lot about them or their shipping options so YMMV, but I’ve heard their name dropped next to the Yorkville you already discovered. Soundboks 3 (two 10” woofers and a 1” tweeter with a swappable battery):

You might be SOL on reverb though. Depending on how many channels are needed I’d recommend a battery powered reverb pedal sent through the effects send of a battery powered mixer:

I've done some research last year because I had similar needs as yours.. tried once the Bose S1 Pro in a noisy shop but it didn't seem to be loud enough (for my needs) and it was not cheap as well. I tried a couple of other battery powered speakers but in local shops I could find only few more and not in the same shop to compare. For istance I tested one from Thomann (Europe), the box pro DSP 110 BP that was much louder than the S1 Pro (and with 10" woofer) but lacking reverb and other things.. so I ended up returning it after two weeks. With covid last 2 years we didn't have so big venues/big gigs so in a local shop I bought another one with similar power to S1 Pro but cheaper (it's ok at the moment).

I can share some battery powered speakers I found in forums or talking with musicians, all more powerful than S1 Pro and JBL Eon One Compact (in a shop an old musician even told me that S1 Pro is more like a bluetooth speaker and just ok for playing for 20 friends.. I guess he was exaggerating) but most of them don't have reverb or other fx and you need to test them yourself for sound quality etc

Very new from Italian Montarbo (just seen it!) You need to check if any of them is available in your area and test them to see if they might fit your needs or else get a 10" or 12" speaker (eg QSC or Yamaha) plus external battery station with CA (like the Beaudens) plus eventually a small mixer with FX.

Seems like there is a lot of other option out there for the US and UK.

Im staying away from an external mixer though had thought about the elite acoustics one in the past for my main powered application. Also the JBL eon one compact has a usb out i can power low consumption pedals off. Trying to keep it simple as can be.

Standouts so far look like the HK Audio Premium Pro Move 8 (especially with the celestion cab sims) and still the Yorkville. Looks like they would have a lot more guts than my JBL.
Hmm just realised the HK does not have an XLR/Line out wtf?? Guess its out .

The box Pro 10" looks quite good also however would need reverb. Though id be using a battery pack anyhow if using the looper.

The Yorkville might be the go...

Have you considered getting one of the larger powerbanks/"portable power stations" and simply using your existing gear on the inverter outlets? I have a Jackery "Explorer 240" that I've used to run amps and PA gear, etc. outdoors with no issues so far. If you're not needing to go cordless that often, it would be a lot more economical if you already have gear you like than getting new gear just for the battery-power option.

I have a lot actually I just figured that not much would power my my gear and I'm not too savvy about what I'd need, mAh, watts, pure sign wave etc.

So would it power for a 4hr gig something like:
EV Evolve50 (1000watt I think)
Small mixing desk
Looper and tuner.
2x led par lights
IPad and led sign.
Vox, acoustic, stompbox.

Would you think?

Yea, look great but it needs to used as a floor monitor/wedge also. I aslo have an Evolve 50.

Second this opinion. I went from the EAE StompMix X6 plus two Bose S1 Pro's to a single EAE D6-58 that is just fantastic. Basically an X6 built into a 120w 4-way speaker cabinet with a built in battery that lasts 5-6 hours. Put on a pole behind you or wedge it in front of you and feed a PA or powered speakers for a ton of dispersion. We've not got several gigs under our belts and we couldn't be more pleased with this one-and-done solution.
