Default Shout Out: Fender Blues Junior

More specifically, my Fender Blues Junior III Custom with Jensen P12Q alnico speaker. Also, let me include any version of the Blues Junior. For general electric guitar usage and tone, loudness, portability, and price/value, can anyone really dislike these Made In Mexico, Fender, everyman gems? I've had a 2003 Blues Junior and my current 2016 Blues Junior III, and if all I had was one of these amps, I could be happy! To my ears, with its tone stack, decent spring reverb (if usage is desired), solid-state power supply, 12AX7-based preamp, and 6BQ5 (EL84) output stage chime, this lightweight box sounds darn good! Of course, everyone likely has their favorite low-cost 15-watt solid-state/tube combo but can you really go wrong with a Fender Blues Junior in your amp stable? Comments Welcome!

Today's electric playing pals:

Very nice combo there! I have owned two Blues Juniors and they were great amps! I now have a PRRI and a Bassbreaker, but I've thought of trading in the Bassbreaker for something different. I might look at the BJ again.

Love that orange Gretsch!

I like the colors of that one. Was it some sort of limited run?

Great combo and that amp looks fantastic. The Blues Jr has been around long enough now to be considered a classic, IMO. I know it's a cheaply built amp when compared to the early Fender hand wired amps, but these little amps have supported countless gigs all around the world. Enjoy.

PSA: that's a limited-edition G5420TG-59 (a Sweetwater exclusive here in the US) - and the perfect example of what I've been saying for a while now (and as many happy fellow AGF'ers have discovered for themselves) about the Korean Electromatics being fully pro-quality instruments in every respect other than the (very reasonable) price...
