Default "Emerald Lake" - New Original

Hi folks!
Thought I'd bring you "Emerald Lake" on this holiday weekend. My wife and I visited this special place in September of '18....It's above Skagway Alaska about 70 miles into the Canadian Yukon. The scene took my breath away! The colors in Emerald Lake are from glacial deposits which the sun picks up and displays.
I tried to compose to the many seasonal flavors of what the Lake might offer over time, quiet and sedate to active and formidable, changeable in any given moment.......finishing with the grandness that it surely is.
Hope you enjoy and thanks for listening!
Fred
(Tom Doerr Legacy, CGCGCD tuning, capo 1. )

Really enjoyed listening to this, Fred. With the clue that it is about a lake one can picture the changing states through your composition. Lovely playing and tone from you and your ‘Legacy’ as well. Thanks for sharing.

Rod, thank you so much! Glad this one resonated with you and that you found it in the listings. It's been a busy few days in Show and Tell and this one went right to the second page quickly! I really appreciate your wonderful comments. Thanks again,
Fred

Thank you so much, Mike! Emerald Lake is pretty amazing with its colors and grand-ness......with the fall colors and a gorgeous day, way up high looking down......and so far away from our home......tears in the eyes! Thought right then that I should do something musical with that lifetime memory. I've enlarged the picture to give a little more of an idea:

So glad you enjoyed this one......
All the best,
Fred

Hi Fred,

Yes, I looked up photos of Emerald Lake after listening to your piece. It's a beautiful place, and your guitar piece does a very good job of painting a similar musical picture. Well done Fred! Lovely to listen to...

Very nice Fred, one of your best! You had me from the opening chord strum and I like how you kept returning to it. The tempo changes really work as did what I will call the minor interlude near the middle. I loved it

Thank you, Glenn! I did a lot of "back and forth" with this one......which guitar, played it on 3 guitars over multiple sessions, which fret to capo, etc. In the end, the Doerr came through again! LOL! Just capoed on first fret as bigness and depth seemed to be needed. Thank you for listening and responding, Glenn
Best,
Fred

Thank you, Bob!! A great compliment......so appreciated, by this old guy! ("Another" birthday in two weeks...you can tell where my head is at! LOL).
Yes, all of what you mentioned..... varying tempo and the little interlude....and also varying volume and phrasing were all quite intentional. That last section was intended to be pretty big if I could manage it cleanly....and after that particular take I knew I might have nailed one......but also really burnt from the energy output!
I really appreciate your thoughts......many thanks, Regards to you,
Fred
