Unhappy A good roommate and a greater friend

I haven't been posting as much as I normally would. My roommate who was 72 passed away two nights ago. He had cancer and was in a lot of pain.

I've been jamming on my guitar more often than posting here since that happened. I normally post more than play but playing a lot is what I use to cope with the passing of my friend.

Thought I'd like to vent somewhere and this forum is mostly what I have.

Condolences, Dave. One of the special qualities of the guitar is to help ease and deal with the pain. Play, write down some words to some chords, remember, and mourn.

We're here for you.

I'm so sorry for your loss. I don't know if that helps but in spirit, you are not alone.

I’m sorry to hear that Dave. It’s difficult to loose a friend like that. I hope you’re doing ok. Keep playing.

Hey, that sucks a lot. Good that your friend is out of pain. Hope your guitar eases your pain as much as possible. I'm sure your friend would have appreciated your grief as a sign of your friendship.

Sorry for your loss. Music, as you already know, is an excellent coping tool. Take care of you.

Hi Dave, I'm 72 and my sister is 81. I've never thoiught of her as very bright but one thing she said to me when our Mum died of a very painful cancer was ... "take joy that her pain and troubles are over, and if she is still around on some other plain, her only concern will be the pain and loss that we are feeling. The best we can do for her is to take comfort that her trials are over". ... or words to that effect.

Take comfort that your friend's trials are ended, and let him go in peace.
