Default Getting to grips with a Casimi Fanfret

Hello everyone,

I just uploaded the latest in my "Michael Watts Plays..." series - in this episode I'm looking at an exquisite C3S Fanfret by Casimi Guitars of South Africa. I'd recommend headphones for this one!

All the best

Michael

Hello Michael. Wow, is that a striking looking guitar! That headstock looks like it should implode, such a cool design! Beautiful sounding instrument as well.

Besides the guitar, I wanted to comment on your playing - I draw inspiration from your pacing. There's a lot of power in your pauses and drawn out notes. It really adds to the emotion of the pieces that you play. Thank you for sharing your skill and talent with us.

Wow indeed! Stunning guitar aesthetics and tone, impeccably played. Thanks for introducing me to this new (to me) guitar maker.

Thank you for your kind words! I'll be honest, the first time I saw a pic of a Casimi guitar online I was a little sniffy about the looks - too futuristic for me. I was looking forward to the opportunity to sit down with its makers at some point and patiently explaining to them just how wrong they'd got it. When the time came and I played a Casimi for the first time it nearly knocked me off my chair! Huge sound, incredible responsiveness and just superb instruments.

Matthew and Matthias have become dear friends since that day and it's always a privilege to play one of their guitars.

I'm glad you enjoyed the video, it's a pleasure to play for you!
