Default Dumb is when

You're not getting the headphone output from your Focusrite Scarlett 2i4, so you uninstall and reinstall it 3 times before you realize someone had put the source switch into the wrong place.

No. Dumb is when I don't have a clue as to what any of that means...

Its like thinking a lamp is broken when it won't come on when you flick its switch on and off and then you realize the wall switch is off that controls the outlet its plugged into.

I did a string change just 2 days ago - mixed up 5A with 4D - the 4D was on the 5A post and excess trimmed - round-cores - thought I was a goner but lucky I left enough winding to reach the 4D post.
All worked out OK.

I believe dumb is - when you have a ‘63 Fender Vibro Champ that you plug in and you find it’s dead. You go out and buy new tubes, that doesn’t work. Let it sit for a couple of years while saying I’ll get it repaired tomorrow. Well, finally getting getting up off my butt to get it fixed, I tried it one more time. Still dead, unplugged it and stowed cord in back of amp and noticed it was a power cord from another amp that I had coiled up. Plugged in correct cord and everything’s good. Dummy!

...sorry to be “that guy”...but the Vibro Champ first appeared in 1964....maybe you have a prototype...in any case glad you got the power cord issue figured out....

Yes, ‘64 been awhile, since I’m in the Vibro Champ owners club.

I've always loved repairing a guitar cable, finishing up a great solder job on a 1/4" jack, and then realizing I forgot to slip the threaded metal housing onto the cable first.
