This is the season to plan for next year ... I agree, let the young guys play and the injured guys heal.

Looks like the Red Sox just traded Hembree and Workman for a couple of no-names. Hopefully the young guy Seabold can return something when he jumps to the Majors (which is probably now).

Seabold clearly was the get. He figures to be a back end starter.

Albert Pujols now #2 on the Career RBI List with 2,087 ... Amazing. Glad Arod got pushed down to 3rd. Appears that Babe Ruth, who had 2,214 RBIs, isn't on the list because it wasn't an official stat.

Pujols was amazing with the Cardinals but I thought he never earned his salary with the Angels.

I wish the stats of players with blatant proven steroid use wouldn't be included on the top lists, like A rod and Bonds.

Spoken like a true Cardinals Fan, Kerbie! When I wrote that last post I looked at his stats and he had amazing numbers with the Cards ... enough to put him in with the all time greats. Sometimes a change of scenery is healthy for a career, and other times it isn't.

Same thing happened to Ken Griffey Jr, although he was often injured in Cincinnati. I just looked at his stats ... his last for seasons in Seattle he had four consecutive years with at least 48 HRs (two seasons with 56) and huge RBI numbers. 10 consecutive gold gloves which ended when he left.

Well, Redsox prospect Bobby Dalbec’s first major league hit went out of the park!

Now that this season is toast, let’s give the kids a chance to play.

Fantastic! Just looked - it was a 2 run shot. The Red Sox seemed to have turned things around in the past week.

One of them, Mike Clevinger, was traded to the Padres for some kids. Follow the rules guys. I liked Clev, he was the started the last time I was in Cleveland for a game. Remember the Indians 22 game winning streak a couple years ago?

When are the Pittsburgh Pirates going to ever learn? They can't even lose right; they're 10-9 in their last 19 games. Can a team be bad because they're textbook mediocre? Are they shooting for 50 years of rebuilding?

What happened to the Yankees? Started out 16-6 and now they're 21-21 and are the final wild card team. Baltimore is just 1/2 game back for that final wild card.

MLB Playoffs will be in a bubble.

AL Division Series will be in San Diego and Los Angeles
NL Division Series will be in Houston
AL Championship Series will be at San Diego
NL Championship Series will be in Arlington
World Series to be played in Arlington

At least there's a plan.

Yankees / Red sox series starts tonight. Yankees just brutalized the Blue Jays by hitting more home runs in a 3 game series than another other team in history.

Over/Under: Red Sox give up > 3 HRs tonight. I'll go against the grain and say under.
