Guitar Fretboard Workbook, HELP!
Hi.
Is anyone familiar with the Hal Leonard Guitar fretboard workbook? I'm practicing major scale root shape patterns 1-5 on an accoutsic guitar. The workbook has me going up to the 15th fret for the pattern 5 major scale! This is uncomfortable to do on my d-15... Can someone tell me if it is ok to work any of the major scale patterns on a more comfortable place on the neck? Or can you give some insight why I should work it as the book says? I'm not familiar with the book but if you are practicing patterns then one point of them is that you move them to get to other keys. Moving should be fine.
To post a PDF you store the file with an online host and link to that.

Workbooks "need" to cover all the bases (more pages in the book, less criticism on reviews
 ). Concentrate on the exercises that will be of more use to you in day to day playing. That might vary (say an acoustic fingerstyle player versus an electric guitar shredder).

Earl Klugh says that all the notes he needs are within 12 frets...
 so go ahead and ignore the lesson sections above where you feel comfortable
