Default ** Northwood D85 Guitar - Martin D28 Style - Brazilian Rosewood PRICE CUT - $1650

*** Tons of interest in this guitar, lets get a huge price cut to move some folks along *** I've never seen a solid Brazilian rosewood back/sides guitar anywhere near this cheap. $1650 shipped

Up for grabs is an amazing Northwood D85 Dreadnought guitar, built in 2002. This guitar is patterned after the Martin D28 but 1/4" shallower front to back. The build fabulous and the tone is glorious. The brazilian rosewood imparts an amazing complexity and depth in the midrange that you don't experience with any other tonewood. The guitar is light build and is super responsive.

Features:
  • 85 Trim Level
  • Engelmann Spruce Top
  • Brazilian rosewood back & sides
  • Brazilian rosewood headstock overlay
  • Brazilian rosewood body binding
  • Abalone purfling & rosette
  • Bound fretboard and headstock
  • Ebony fretboard
  • Ebony Bridge
  • Waverly open back gold tuners
  • V - modified shaped neck (like a vintage martin V to C profile)
  • 1 3/4" Nut
  • 2 1/4" Saddle spacing
  • 25 1/4" scale length

Condition: The guitar is in good overall condition but has some cosmetic issues; see below. Frets and fretboard are in prefect condition.

The original owner had the three humidity cracks professional cleated and cleared. Two of the humidity cracks run from the bridge to the bottom and there is one small one by the edge of the bridge (see pics). I had my luther check them and he said they were done right.
There are also two small dings on the lower bout on the top (see pics).
There are various dings along the edges of the brazilian binding (see pics).
There is a small spot on the headstock where it looks there was a spot that someone tried to rub out and made some impressions (see pics).
There are also three small impressions on the back of the neck (see pics)

So while not in perfect cosmetic condition, the guitar is in perfect playing condition. According to John, this guitar would cost over $8000 to order today. The price reflects the humidity cracks and the other cosmetic issues.

Looking to get $1650 shipped.
