AGF Member Allen Shadd Plays with Presley Barker
Not sure what is up with my computer that I can't get it to download, but here is a link to one of our own members Allen Shadd playing with Presley Barker. Allen is too modest to post this himself, so I am. For those who don't know, he is a world class picker himself and I believe has won the Henderson Guitar competition twice (which means he owns two Hendersons ! There ought to be a law lol). Presely frequently cites Allen as an instrumental player in his own (Presley's) development.

Darn ! I know we have some excellent guitarist on this site and that Allen is one of them. Quite a few views but no comments or compliments. Surely, I am not the only one impressed with his playing. Leave a comment if you agree !

Allen taught at Swannanoa Gathering a few years ago. I heard him play the orientation, concerts and he also ran the afternoon jam sessions. So I got to hear him play multiple times over the week. Some of the competition guitarists I’ve heard seem to sacrifice musicality for speed. Alan, although blazing fast, still keeps the music forefront. I think the music clip captures that. And a very nice guy too.
Besides Allen, I also got to hear (and take at a class from) AGF member Toby Walker the last time he taught at Swannanoa Gathering. He’ll be back at Swannanoa Gathering this year and I look forward to hearing him at the concerts. So the OP is absolutely correct, there is a lot of world class talent hanging out here.
